Barry Black - Weekend Speaker Barry C. Black is the 62nd Chaplain of the United States Senate. He was elected to this position on June 27, 2003, becoming the first African-American, the first Seventh-day Adventist, and the first military chaplain to hold the office of chaplain to the United States Senate. He previously served for over 27 years as a chaplain in the United States Navy, rising to the rank of Rear Admiral (UH) and ending his career as the Chief of Navy Chaplains. He officially retired from the Navy on August 15, 2003. Chaplain Black is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, and an alumnus of Oakwood College, Andrews University, North Carolina Central University, Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (Now Palmer Theological Seminary), Salve Regina University, and United States International University (now Alliant International University). In addition to earning Masters degrees in Divinity, Counseling, and Management, he has received a Doctorate degree in Ministry and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Psychology. Chaplain Black has been selected for many outstanding achievements. Of particular note, he was chosen from 127 nominees for the 1995 NAACP Renowned Service Award for his contribution to equal opportunity and civil rights. He also received the 2002 Benjamin Elijah Mays Distinguished Leadership Award from The Morehouse School of Religion. In 2004, the Old Dominion University chapter of the NAACP conferred on him the Image Award, "Reaffirming the Dream -- Realizing the Vision" for military excellence. Chaplain Barry C. Steve Bohr - Weeknight Speaker Pastor Stephen P. Bohr was born in Wisconsin but grew up in Venezuela and Colombia where his parents served as missionaries for over thirty years. His heavy speaking schedule has taken him from Argentina to Alaska and Hawaii to New York. He has also lectured in the Caribbean, Australia, Europe and Asia. In thirty three years of denominational work pastor Bohr has served as a local church pastor, university theology teacher, conference youth/Pathfinder director and ministerial secretary and evangelist. In 1995 pastor Bohr authored the Spanish Pacific Press sharing book, Esperanza para el Planeta Tierra. He has dedicated years to the study of the prophetic message of the Bible and is best known for his groundbreaking video series, “Cracking the Genesis Code.” He presented the series “New Perspectives on the Spirit of Prophecy” on 3ABN and also the Spanish evangelistic satellite series “Felicidad sin Limites” which was broadcast to a worldwide audience from Chicago. Once a year he teaches the class “Foundations of Seventh-day Adventist Theology” at the Amazing Facts College of Evangelism. Presently he serves as senior pastor of Fresno Central Seventh-day Adventist Church and also as speaker for Secrets Unsealed, a non-profit organization committed to the preservation, proclamation and proliferation of the Present Truth message of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Pastor Bohr loves the Lord with all his heart and is committed to working for Him with all his mind, soul and might. Pastor Bohr’s wife, Aurora, is from Colombia. They have a son, Stephen who is the Technical Director and Webmaster for Secrets Unsealed, and a daughter, Jennifer, who is in her last year at Pacific Union College procuring a degree in International Communications.
